Database (EPIC) Launch Support

Industry and System:

Service Provider - 3rd Party Total Quality Solutions Provider including Inspection/Quality Engineering and Training to Automotive, Aerospace Manufacturers/General Manufacturers. The database software used by the company is a proprietary database system called EPIC.

Position Summary:

This position reports to the EPIC System Manager. The successful candidate will work as a part of the EPIC Automation team by leading in system implementation and deployment at work sites, as well as assisting in administrative duties, including: payroll change requests, customer (internal and external) support, running monthly reports, updating/creating Excel reports, etc., when needed.

Primary areas of responsibility include (but not limited to):

  • Support to the EPIC Automation Team
  • Support internal users with network and technical support
  • Provide customer service and technical assistance to external users
  • Support with EPIC database administration requests from Payroll/Invoicing, when needed
  • Support with EPIC database administration change requests from Operations (includes: timesheet corrections, commercial responsibility change requests, etc.), when needed
  • Assist in user training (internal and external)
  • Assist in rollout of system changes and upgrades
  • Lead in deployment and implementation of EPIC system for new work sites
  • Lead in deployment and implementation of system changes or improvements at work sites
  • Lead in training system users at work sites
  • Configure, assemble and install hardware and work stations at work sites for system use
  • Order required hardware and software for users, in accordance with the IT Department
  • Comply with relevant local Health and Safety legislation
  • Support Company Health and Safety Policies
  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications and mandatory skills include:

  • Strong computer skills a must
  • Required to be proficient in Microsoft Office (MS) applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel required
  • Experience in support/troubleshooting hand held scanners and tablets or mobile devices will put you ahead of the pack
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize
  • Self-directed and able to work under minimal supervision
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
  • Highly organized multitasker who works well in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines under pressure
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrate flexibility within a fast-paced challenging environment
  • Ability to take initiative and recognize needs
  • Must be flexible regarding schedule and overtime
  • Must be willing to travel frequently (nationally and internationally)
  • High school diploma; associates degree, or bachelor's degree in business, administration, IT or related field preferred
