We're looking for a proactive and experienced Production Manager with understanding of production processes as they relate to aircraft systems components and avionics equipment, machined part fabrication, tooling fabrication, and lean manufacturing.  This position is for a quality professional with defense related quality experience, with inspection, auditing or quality engineering in their work history. 

Job Description:

This is a Production Subcontract Management (PSM) field support position. The PSM will be responsible for providing onsite support to our client at various major systems, airframe, and tooling suppliers located within 25 mile radius of Long Beach / Torrance area. Depending on the candidate's home location, the position could require a substantial amount of travel (driving) to/from suppliers.

  • Approximately 90% of the PSM's time will be spent onsite at the clients supplier facility.

A PSM is a member of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team that our client uses to minimize disruptions to the supply chain by providing "in the field" oversight of supplier execution. Working with supplier personnel to prioritize components through manufacturing, validating the status of the deliverable parts and providing detailed status to  procurement, preparing plans to reduce/prevent shortages, identifying risks in the supply chain, and developing risk mitigation plans to minimize the potential impact. 

Required Skills: 

  • Candidates should have an understanding of production processes as they relate to aircraft systems components and avionics equipment, machined part fabrication, tooling fabrication, and lean manufacturing.
  • Candidate should be a self-starter that is capable of analyzing supplier processes and developing improvement plans in collaboration with personnel from both the supplier and LM.
  • Candidate will regularly collaborate across multiple functions (within client and at the supplier facility), including production, procurement, quality, and Instructions engineering, in order to expedite parts/assemblies that are required to support each of the client's lines of business. 
  • Candidate should have the abilitye to communicate clearly and effectively with supplier personnel at varying levels of an organization.
  • Candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and be able to build relationships quickly with multiple stakeholders.

 

The work scope of this position will require the candidate to live within a 25 mile radius of either Long Beach
