CMM Operator - Aerospace - Orlando, FL (contract)

This CMM Operator role coordinates programming and operation of CMM equipment in an aerospace environment. 

Job Description:

  • Performs precision inspection (to .0001 tolerance) on complex machined parts to ensure conformance with work orders, blueprints and/or customer requirements.
  • CMM operation; precision inspection (to .0001 tolerance); GD&T; FAI (AS9102);
  • Mechanical
  • Supports Quality Improvement activities and non-conformance systems.
  • Willing to overtime and weekend work schedules as necessary.
  • Ability to operate coordinate measuring machine (CMM) to inspect
  • Must be able to understand geometrical dimensioning & tolerance in accordance with ANSI Y14.5.
  • Ability to visually and mechanically measure and inspect parts utilizing final inspection tools, i.e. OD & ID micrometers, height gage, CMM, Vernier calipers, pin gages, depth mic's, radius gages, micro finish comparator, test Indicator, dial Indicator, optical comparator, thread gages, bore gages, set-up Mueller bars, gages blocks, etc.
  • Must be able to interpret drawings.
  • Reports inspection results. Will mark parts for acceptance or rejection.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and measure parts in accordance with blueprints.
  • Team-minded, communicative, being proactive, stress resistant, assertiveness 

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 5+ years aerospace experience
  • Minimum 3+ years cabin parts inspection experience
  • Experienced with AS9100, ISO9001 and EASA requirements
  • Knowledge at First Article Inspections per AS9102 standards
  • Capable of reading, interpreting and understanding aerospace engineering drawings and customer specifications
  • Experience in production, quality management, and logistics
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal 

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Required Education (including certifications):

  • High School Diploma 

Desired Skills and Education (including certifications):

  • Bachelor Degree (Preferred) or equivalent work-related experience
  • Have worked on aircraft or field related work
  • Understand aircraft interfacing and terminology
